Nelspruit GP (South Africa)

Commentary

It was great having one of the World Championship legs of the Motocross GP back here in South Africa.

I was very proud of my guys with their achievements.

MX2

Tyla was under huge pressure, being in front of his home crowd and obviously wanting to pull off 2 wins for them.  But he is like a diesel, he starts off well, and just gets better and better as the weekend progresses. I think he did his country proud by getting a 3rd and 1st respectively, giving him a 2nd overall.

Rui Goncalves on the other hand, was not feeling well on the day, suffering with flu symptoms. He still had an excellent race, and I know for a fact that next year, with the proper base training, he will be a strong contender for podiums at every race.  He pocketed an 11th and 17th for the day.

MX1

Richard van der Westhuizen is one that needs the international competition, he was the top South African finisher in the MX1 with 2 x 17th positions.  Well done Richie, you are going to go far.

Marnis du Plessis – Well Done goes out to him for qualifying.  He is in the middle of studies, and has not trained much, and also changed to a 450 just before the GP.  What an achievement.  He got a 23rd and 28th respectively.
