Athlete(s) Involved: Josh Coppins and Rui Goncalves
MX 1 - JOSH COPPINS - Having a bit of a disappointing result in Sweden, and knowing how good he is in the sand, and having had a good 4 weeks break, preapring for this race, Josh was hoping to get a good result. Misfortune had it though, with the bad weather, they mis-judged the bike set up. Josh battled along fighting the bike every step of the way, and rode like a true champion giving him a 4th in the first Race. He knew he could have done better, he was feeling good, well prepared, and strong. 2nd Race saw the determined Josh wanting this victory so bad. He unfortunately crashed in the 3rd corner, and getting up quickly, he worked his way up from last to finish in 7th. Place. Lommel is not a track you want to come from last, it is taxing on your body enough, without having to make your way through traffic as well. Josh you were strong and made us proud.

MX 2 - RUI GONCALVES - Loves the rough stuff, when the going gets tough, Rui just gets stronger and stronger. In Race 1, Rui was out front with his team mate Marvin Musquin. With the conditions being so rough and the weather so bad, Rui had to throw off his goggles and ended up by swollowing a lot of sand. He still managed to get his 2nd in that race. In the 2nd heat, Rui unfortunately felt so sick from all the sand he had swollowed in the previous round, that he could not perform to the best of his ability. But today still saw him overtake 2nd place in the World Championship standings putting him in 2nd just 38 points behind the leader. We look forward to Czech Rui, we know you can do it!
