GLEN HELEN MOTOCROSS

TYLA RATTRAY

Tyla has proved that he is very capable of running up top with the boys of America.

Going into the Glen Helen Race was very nerve racking.  Tyla knew he had the speed to run up there with the best of them, but doing it in practice and in a race situation, are two totally different things. Not having raced for 7 months, put a bit of fear and uncertainty in him, but he was excited all the same to get this first race under his belt, and see how he compared against them. Race one saw Tyla riding a bit stiff and not flowing with the track at all, adrenalin pumping, crowds going mad and eager to see what the World Champion could come up with.  Tyla wanted top 5 in his first race, obviously not knowing what to expect, and he certainly did deliver just that, with a 5th place just behind Tommy Searle.  Ryan Dungey taking the honours.  The 2nd Race came along, and Tyla a bit more relaxed now, knowing what lay ahead of him, and what to expect of himself to acheive a better position.  He got a better start, and both Tyla and Dungey gave the spectators an exciting race to watch, with Tyla arriving as the World Champion, but unknown in the racing scene in America, definatley gave everyone something to talk about and wonder..........! Tyla came a close 2nd to Dungey, and I am sure that he will just grow from strength to strength from here on.  Tyla got 3rd. for the day at his first ever American National Motocross.  He is lying 3rd in the Championship, so watch this space closely!!!! for more updates.
